Bow hunting takes patience, practice, and tremendous skill. The archery season begins on the last Saturday in September and runs through December. A bow hunt for deer can be combined with bird hunting. Rifle hunting runs only 16 days, starting the third Saturday in November. There is no bird hunting during rifle season.

Licensing

Archery licenses are available over-the-counter for non-residents and residents alike. Rifle licenses are guaranteed only for residents. Non-residents must apply for any licenses that remain.
